Two Riders on a Beach by Max Liebermann, was sold by Sotheby's for more than $441,000. This painting was recovered from the clandestine collection of Cornelius Gurlitt, who recently died. He spent most of his life hiding it together with more than 1,000 paintings, watercolors and sketches amassed by his father, Hildebrandt Gurlitt, a Nazi-era art dealer.
